“Contractor Advertising Bill”
House Bill 6613
(House Calendar # 127)
An Act Concerning Electronic Advertisements By Skilled Tradespersons And Home Improvement Contractors

It’s time to do something about it!
House Bill 6613 would allow skilled tradesman and home improvement contractors to list a website instead of their license numbers on TV and radio ads. On their website they would be required to have the license number(s). Often during a TV or radio ad, people overlook or don’t hear the list of license numbers. Plus, many companies have more than one license number or category, making it even more difficult for consumers. Listing just a web address would give consumers the ability to easily get all the information they need in one place to verify the contractor/tradesman license.

CASIA needs your help to pass this initiative this session - please reach out to your State Representative and State Senator today and ask them to please support the contractor advertising bill! Let them know that this is a common-sense proposal that makes it easier for electronic security businesses and contractors who advertise as well as consumers who may seek to verify license information.
