Art Escape Deadline Approaching | |
Art Escape, September 9 - 17, 2023
Applications Due April 1
The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau is still accepting applications for participation in Art Escape!
Area artists will be able to feature their art at a time and date chosen by the artists between September 9-17, 2023. This is a prime opportunity to showcase your art via live demos, workshops, and open houses.
Your event will be included in the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau Art Escape directory that will be distributed across Bayfield County and target markets in the weeks leading up to the event.

The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau is putting together an artist and event guide for the week of Art Escape which will be distributed to target markets in July. We begin Holy Week with the Palm Sunday procession and Holy Eucharist celebrated by Father Scott Kirby. Our labors for love continue throughout Holy Week: Community Maundy Thursday Worship at Noon and also at 6:30 p.m.; Good Friday Solemn Observance at 6:30 p.m.; Holy Saturday at 10:30 a.m. (worship of scripture and prayer); Palm Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
We will celebrate with palms the welcoming of Jesus into our hearts and our willingness to follow Him. No stair access in the rear of the Church.

Bring extra seeds you have been saving from your crops or leftover purchased seeds. We'll share a few stories about the origins of some of our seeds. Plan to display clearly labeled seeds in containers that are not spill-prone. Bring seeds you believe are true to type and small envelopes to carry home your treasures.
No seeds? No sweat! Come anyway and pick up something that interests you. Please no treated or GMO seeds. Cuttings, Scionwood, etc are welcome.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival works with environmental groups across the globe to use film to inspire activism. Landmark Conservancy hosts the festival to increase community understanding of our connection with the planet and our role as stewards to protect it for future generations. The in-person program includes a presentation by Native activist Paul DeMain about land back acquisitions he is involved with on Madeline Island and the region.
Films can also be streamed virtually on demand.

Tickets and sponsorships are on sale for the Golf: Fore the Greater Good Tournament on June 16 in Ashland, sponsored by the Apostle Islands-Chequamegon Bay Area Community Funds.
The event raises funds to support the work of the two funds, which provide grants to nonprofits for community projects and scholarships. The funds are affiliates of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. They cover communities throughout the Bayfield peninsula, including Ashland, Bad River, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, and the Apostle Islands, including Madeline Island.
