HUD Announces NOFO Awards!

FY2022 CONTINUUM OF CARE NOTICE AND FUNDING REPORT

This Competitive Funding Notice establishes the funding criteria for the FY 2022 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. HUD is making available approximately $2.76 billion through a competitive process to distribute Fiscal Year 2022 appropriated funds to CoC grant recipients, including approximately $77,000,000, available for non-competitive YHDP renewal and replacement expiring grants, and up to $102,000,000 available for Domestic Violence (DV) Bonus projects.

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program is designed to promote a community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; to provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, states, Indian Tribes or tribally designated housing entities (as defined in section 4 of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (25 U.S.C. 4103) (TDHEs)), and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals, families, persons fleeing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and youth while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness; to promote access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and to optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.

The goal of the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) is to support the development and implementation of a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness and sharing that experience with and mobilizing communities around the country toward the same end. The population to be served by the demonstration program is youth experiencing homelessness, including unaccompanied and pregnant or parenting youth.

YHDP Community Conversations

The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) is an initiative designed to reduce the number of youth (between the ages of 16 and 24) experiencing homelessness. In October 2022, Missouri Balance of State was awarded $6,857,269 by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to develop and implement a community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness.

The Coordinated Community Plan (CCP) focuses on the needs of youth, service providers, and housing interventions that will be funded by the YHDP to address youth housing instability. Our team is seeking to engage youth with lived expertise, interested organizations, service providers, and advocates to inform the CCP. We want to know what support young people need, the issues that youth face, and the resources to get safe and stable housing.
