CONGRATULATIONS

2023 OPPORTUNITY

GRANT RECIPIENTS!

The Foundation for DC School's Opportunity Grant program encourages and develops great teachers by supporting their professional development and helping make their ideas reality. We are thrilled to help fund high priority projects and innovative approaches, which bring deeper meaning to curriculum and improve the educational experiences of students. Grants are funded through a combination of support from corporate partners and individuals in our community.

The Foundation recently presented over $68,000 in grant awards in three categories: Community, Innovation and Leadership and S.T.E.A.M. 2023 winners include:

The Douglas County School District's Perseverance Scholarship has awarded over $276,000 in scholarships to nearly 200 seniors since 1988. Financial need and academic merit are key criteria used in selecting the scholarship recipients.

In addition, students who are awarded this scholarship have often overcome personal challenges. These students show grit, determination and resiliency, and need financial assistance to continue their education after graduation from a DCSD school.
