May 2023
Spring is in full swing here at Valley Humane, and we are as busy as bees! Just this past weekend, we celebrated the long-awaited grand opening of our new veterinary surgery center, the first of many amazing events this month and beyond, including our Spring Wag and Tag on May 18, Tips for Change at SideTrack on May 23, and our first Yappy Hour of the season at McKay's Taphouse on May 25. Amid all the busy-ness, we are taking time to pause and savor the season, enjoying warmer weather, smelling the flowers, and prioritizing all that's close to our hearts. Life is sweet!
WAG AND TAG EVENT, MAY 18
Join Valley Humane Society and Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan for our Spring Wag and Tag: Pet Tagging and Adoption Festival, Thursday, May 18 from 5-7 pm, at jour adoption center, located at 3670 Nevada Street. Get a free QR-coded tag for your pup and meet adoptable pets--you might just find your new best friend! Of course, no festival is complete without some delicious food and drink. We will have Marty's Joint food truck available on site, along with alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages. Bring your family and friends, and enjoy a great time while raising awareness about the importance of pet tags in keeping our furry friends safe.
TIPS FOR CHANGE, MAY 23
Dinner is served! At least it will be, on Tuesday, May 23 at Sidetrack Bar + Grill in downtown Pleasanton. Make your reservation now to join us for Tips for Change from 5-9 pm, as our very own volunteer servers compete for the biggest tips while dishing out the restaurant's delicious fare. 100% of tips raised will benefit Valley Humane Society’s lifesaving and life-enriching programs and services, in addition to 10% of the evening’s sales. Plan to bring your appetites and tip generously! Reservations are recommended and can be made directly with the restaurant by emailing your preferred time along with the number of guests in your party to todd@sidetrackeats.com.
"PAWS" AND PLAN THIS SPRING
As our daily routines shift, take a moment to "paws" and smell the flowers and consider creating an estate plan to grow your peace of mind. Although two-thirds of Americans don't have an up-to-date plan, it's important for protecting loved ones, designating a guardian for your pets, and making important decisions about your future. Valley Humane's partnership with FreeWill allows you to create or update your will for free in just 20 minutes. As a pet owner, estate planning is especially critical to ensure your furry friends are cared for properly. It's an important part of creating a world where every animal is loved and every person knows the love of an animal. Sow the seeds for a brighter future today!
