Finlandia Foundation National must raise $3 million by the end of 2023 to continue its work in preserving operations of the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock, Michigan, and safeguarding the story of Finnish America for future generations. This includes the Finnish American Folk School! If you're interested in learning more or contributing, click here.

FAFS co-director Phyllis Fredendall spent 5 weeks in Finland this fall as an American Scandinavian Foundation Folk Arts Fellow. While there she visited folk schools and taitos, wove, and learned. Stay tuned in 2024 for opportunities to hear more about her travel and to learn from her here at the folk school.
