Thank you to ASU Barrett, Honors College student Cordero Holmes for passionately sharing his story and urging Arizona leaders to make education a priority at a recent Everything to Gain media event.

Cordero is an Education Forward Arizona Scholar and an exemplary student who believes education has changed his life. After growing up in poverty and experiencing incarceration in his 20s, Cordero has dedicated his life to creating positive change by advocating for incarcerated individuals and the unhoused population and by serving on the Maricopa Council on Black American Affairs and the Arizona Department of Education’s Indian Education Advisory Council.

Cordero's commitment to racial equity and equality while pursuing his education will not only impact his community, but our state as a whole.
