FERC issues RFI for Internal Network Security Monitoring
Earlier this year, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued Order No. 887 directing NERC to develop requirements within the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Reliability Standards for internal network security monitoring (INSM) of all high impact Bulk Electric Systems (BES). INSM permits entities to monitor traffic to detect intrusions or malicious activity. Read the RFI here.
