Young Life Help Available
Cody Workman, our staffer at Charlotte High School and Punta Gorda Middle School, is having great success in getting teens to sign up for the week long summer camp. Most kids attending Young Life camp have come to know Jesus and camp shows them how to make a lifetime commitment. The problem is "camp costs money" and some come from families who can not afford camp. These girls and boys are willing to work to earn money for camp. They are willing to work at your home helping with chores such as weeding, shrubbery trimming, cleaning garage, cleaning floors, moving furniture, washing windows, cleaning shelves, ect. When you think of a chore that a teen girl or boy can help with to earn a little camp money call Cody at 815-303-8815.
Hospital Visitation, Prayer Available
We want to know when you are having surgery or are in the hospital! We are available to pray with you before surgery and visit you in the hospital, rehab, etc.

Contact us through email: prayerteam@newlifeforall.church or call/text Pastor Bob, Minister of Pastoral Care (941) 585-9576.
Youth Mission Trip June 15-23 - Austin, Texas
Have you heard? Our Teens are planning a mission trip to Texas this June! Preparations are almost complete for this 9-day trip. Students and their adult chaperones have been meeting together as a group for training sessions and doing "homework" to prepare for the trip.

If you want to help our mission team in a specific and meaningful way, we have a unique opportunity you may want to invest in. While on our mission trip, we will be sleeping on air mattresses in a church about 10 miles north of the Texas Capital City of Austin where they will be working. While there, the team will purchase mattresses, pillows, and some blankets to use during their stay at the church. Then at the end of the mission trip, the teens plan to continue their long-standing tradition of donating these air mattresses, pillows, and blankets to a local shelter. If you would like to help pay for a pillow, a blanket, or a mattress that will be donated to a shelter in the Austin area, then check out the following list.

We suggest the following donation amounts:
  • $10 for a pillow or blanket.
  • $25 donation will buy a basic 6-inch twin-sized mattress.
  • $65 donation will purchase a raised twin mattress that comes with its own internal electric plug making it so much easier for the homeless shelter to keep them inflated.

Please prayerfully consider helping in this tangible way by making a donation towards the purchase of one or more of these items for our Teen Summer Missions Team. Donations can be made by writing “Youth Mission Trip” in the memo of your check and placing in the offering plate or dropping it at the church office by June 4th.

Thanks again for investing in our teens and helping them fulfill the great commission. Matthew 28:19 & 20

Director of Youth Ministries
NEW Sunday Morning Study Opportunity - May 21
Beginning Sunday, May 21st The Harmony Class will begin a new, six-part Andy Stanley study, “Go Fish.” Fishing stories! We’ve all heard them. “It was THIS big.” “You should have seen the one that got away!” People love to tell stories of their fishing adventures. When it comes to faith, however, most people clam up. Even if you DON’T like fishing for FISH, this class is for YOU!. Why is it we can’t talk about what God has done in our lives as naturally as we can spin fishing tales?  Andy Stanley explores the motivation behind sharing your faith and how it can become a natural part of your life. Learn how to be “Fishers of PEOPLE” and join us at 9:15 am in Lenox Hall. All are welcome to attend!

Join us for Movie Night - May 30
About the movie: In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a JESUS REVOLUTION.

Watch the movie trailer HERE:
For families with younger children:
Due to the PG-13 rating of "Jesus Revolution," New Life Kid Zone will be showing a movie for younger children upstairs in Lenox Hall during Movie Night.

Invite cards will be available beginning Sunday, May 21 for you to share and invite your friends and neighbors to our free Movie Night. Concessions will be available for purchase with the proceeds supporting our New Life Youth Group. Join us!
Operation Christmas Child
The Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry Team will be collecting monetary donations during the months of May & June to help defray the shipping costs for OCC shoeboxes packed during the Church Packing Party (date TBA). Our goal this year is to pack 100 shoeboxes at the party!  The shipping cost per shoebox is $10, so any amount you can give is greatly appreciated!  Please note in the memo line of your check or on your donation envelope: ‘Shoebox Shipping’.

Thank you & God Bless You for your support of this important ministry mission!
We Missed Seeing You!
The United Christian Women's (UCW) monthly meeting was held on Monday, April 24th. Two future events were agreed upon. First, our May meeting will be Monday, May 22, 2023, at 12:30 PM as a 'field trip' at Jesus Loves You Ministry location: 1734 Cedarwood St., Port Charlotte. They wish to thank us for our support-financial donation and the monthly sandwich bag lunches we make. We have been invited to have lunch and a tour of the facility. All should go directly to the Jesus Loves You Ministry facility - do not stop at our church. Save the date and see you there!
Second, several UCW members are excited to start plans for a women's 'church wide' invitational event called: "Portrait of a Bride An Evolving Silhouette" presented by Leigh Anne Brown of her 20 wedding gowns from the Victorian era to the modern day. The presentation is planned for Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Life Center. Save the date- spread the word-invite a friend! UCW Member-Hosts will invite and sell the tickets which will cost $20/person. We will have a light reception menu - beverages, tea sandwiches, and cake desserts. AJ Rilat is asking for your bridal portrait or wedding photo. She is heading up the table decorations. Think of where your gifts lie; promotions, signage, getting gift certificates, baking, beverage serving, luncheon service, tablecloth laundering, set-up, or break-down. We need everyone to make this a fun-filled successful fundraiser! Show your support...

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church family -

Well the past several days have been both a challenge and an opportunity for those of us who are involved in one of our prayer teams, along with most of our church members who heard about the serious prayer needs that had arisen. As you all know by now, Pastor Angela 's daughter was in the hospital with pneumonia and Pastor Mike had a fall resulting in a broken hip. Now you certainly don't need to be part of a formal prayer group to spend time in prayer when urgent situations happen, but it's an opportunity for me to explain what takes place when an urgent call goes out to prayer group members. Notices go out to group members with urgent prayer needs and they immediately begin praying for the person in need and the situation. I will mention that these requests are always confidential, but in the case of our pastors, and their situations, everyone was in prayer. Pastor Bob has a prayer group and I have a team who are committed to prayer. I have seen on multiple occasions, the power of prayer and I'd like to invite you to join our group. If you're willing to pray when someone needs prayer, you'll receive an email message and you pray on your own time.  It's easy, and powerful and the blessings are huge. Let me know if your heart is willing to help. When adversity hits us, it sometimes seems too difficult to bear, but to know that you can reach out and many will lift you with prayer help is a great relief.  There is another prayer opportunity I'd like to invite you to join; that is New Life Church's upcoming 24/10 Prayer Vigil. I'm still working on improving my prayer life and God definitely gives me many lessons to learn and grow. My human nature is to look at problems when they arise and think " how will I survive this?" I am learning to quickly change that thought and remember that God says" All things are possible for Me" (Mark 10:27) He wants to demonstrate His faithfulness and teach us an even greater lesson of faith. God has given us a powerful weapon in prayer.

We know that when we pray:
* God always listens.
* He is committed to answer our cries for help.
* He views our prayers as a proclamation of faith in Him.
* He moves on our behalf.

My strength in prayer began to change when we set up our dedicated prayer room. Pastor Mike encouraged me to study and experience a 24/7 prayer journey and it was the start of something beautiful in my life. It didn't mean life was problem free but I now go to God not only in times of trouble but times of joy and gladness.  My prayer is that everyone has this experience. Please sign up for at least one hour of prayer between 5/18 and 5/28. The sign-up book is available in Fellowship Hall on Sunday and in the church office during the week. More stories about prayer room experiences next week.

Please continue prayers for Pastor Mike's recovery, Pastor Angela's daughter Ella, and all those dealing with health or situational difficulties at this time. There is power in prayer and...

I'm praying for you!
