Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

February is the Month of love and we celebrate National Marriage Week from February 7 - 14. Look for suggestions on ways to pray together and spend quality time together. We also celebrate the Holy Family this month. How can your family draw closer in faith? How can your family be a reflection of the Holy Family?

Please let us know how we can better serve you and your parish as we carry out our mission of evangelization to help parishes bring people to an encounter with Christ and a deeper appreciation of the Catholic faith. (Contact us at family@diocesepb.org)

May God's Mercy and Peace be with you and your family,

Cathy, Deacon Louie, Beth, Liliana, Andy,

Maria, Cindy, and Rosario

7 BIBLE VERSES EVERY CHILD SHOULD LEARN

Young children possess a special superpower: their memory! Although children are notorious for "forgetting" to unload the dishwasher or tidy their rooms, the truth is that God has blessed them with an amazing capacity to learn things by heart.

PREPARING FOR LENT

It may be out of the archives, but it still holds true today. In this video, circa 2016, Fr. Mike explains how prayer, fasting, and almsgiving are the three pillars of a spiritually fruitful Lent. He then challenges us to try new ways to exercise these Lenten practices, sharing several simple strategies for drawing closer to God during this holy season.

Celebrate National Marriage Week 2025

The observances of National Marriage Week (February 7-14) and World Marriage Day (Sunday, February 9) are an opportunity to focus on building a culture of life and love that begins with supporting and promoting marriage and the family. Our theme for 2025 is “Marriage: Source of Hope, Spring of Renewal. Pursue a Lasting Love!”

We invite parents, grandparents, DRE’s, and catechists to explore this series and read it in classrooms, cozy living rooms, or anywhere to ignite imagination in both children and adolescents.

The Seven Deadly Dragons book series is a highly creative thoughtful tool for parents to train their children in striving for sainthood by identifying the temptations that confront them and practicing the virtues that overcome them. This series also illustrates how grace from the Sacraments operates in engaging the battle for holiness. I heartily recommend this series for anyone tasked with teaching the moral life to children.”

RELATIONSHIPS MATTER

How to Make a

New Friend

The average American adult hasn’t made a new friend in five years. Five years! So, if you’re wondering how to make friends, you’re not alone.

Why is making friends so hard? Because friendships are formed through shared experiences, in doing hard things together, which is why a lot of our ride or die buddies come from childhood or college.
