Ten years ago today Governor Perry

signed the Texas PACE Act

"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress,

and working together is success." – Henry Ford

On June 14, 2013, Governor Rick Perry signed the Texas PACE Act, creating a limitless opportunity to conserve Texas' natural resources and create

$400 million in new economic activity in Texas to date

in commercial, industrial, and multifamily properties

(including HUD and FHA multifamily properties).

To make the most of the opportunity, a group of 130 volunteers built a model of uniform best practices in program administration, underwriting, and technical standards, called PACE in a Box. Over the past 10 years, 90 local governments have adopted this quality program and volunteers continue to manage the PACE in a Box model.

None of this would be possible but for these visionaries:

Hon. Jon Carona, Author of SB 385, and

Hon. Jim Keffer, Sponsor of HB 1094
