The Family Center Connections: January 2023

Heart to Heart

I love a new start. I think that's why New Year's Eve is one of my favorite holidays. I use the time after all of my family falls asleep to plan how the new year will be different. Some years it is to enjoy the little moments more and others it is a big goal to reach, but the hope that the beginning of each year brings always reminds me that my family is my focus. This year I hope to become a stronger me, so we can be a stronger "we". That means a few different things for me, but one of those is to remember my own strengths and to use them instead of feeling like I need to be "more" all the time. We, as parents or caregivers of young children, come with many strengths, which in the parenting world are called protective factors. You will see many events this year and each one is planned to help us as parents and caregivers to identify where we use those protective factors in our lives and to help us to build on them. I hope you'll join me on this journey and celebrate all of our strengths together.

Meet Our Team

My name is Ivonne. I am from Honduras and I went to university and graduated with a degree in Tourism Business Administration. I am a member of The Family Center's Spanish Cafe Team. After attending my first cafe, I asked for training to be a Table Host. In this role, I get to help plan and lead small group conversations during the cafes.

The greatest achievement I have had in my life is getting married and starting my family. I have three

beautiful children.

I like to read, help people, and I like to get involved in my children's activities.

Join us for an Open House at 1811 Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg

(located at St. John's United Church of Christ)

to learn about the benefits of your child (age 3-5) attending preschool with First Start Partnerships in one of our many classrooms throughout Franklin County.

We have a few spots open for this school year, and we are now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year!
