I am so proud to announce our 2025 Youth of the Year, Vanessa Villa!
Youth of the Year is the highest honor given to a Boys & Girls Club member, recognizing outstanding leadership, service, and resilience. Vanessa, 17, is an active member of the Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center who has grown tremendously through the Club. Having been homeschooled, she found confidence, independence, and a passion for leadership through her experiences here. She credits the Club and our dedicated staff for helping her discover her voice and love for the community.
Vanessa has been an active member, taking part in all programs including Brent’s Club, Kindness Is Free, and even representing us in the 2024 Rose Parade. She has used her voice in several social media and video projects, including our 2024 gala video, and was honored as the 2024 Kindness Ambassador of the Year for her dedication to spreading positivity.
Now, as our 2025 BGCOP Youth of the Year, Vanessa is determined to empower others, spark meaningful change, and build a future where everyone stands together—regardless of race, gender, or identity.
Next up, she will compete for California Coastal Youth of the Year on March 13th in Solvang! Join me in cheering her on as she continues to inspire us all.
