The Seafood Merchants

The Seafood Merchants was started 40 years ago and was purchased by Dennis Kramer in 2012. He is committed to expanding on the standards of excellence in the business.

One of their strengths is their willingness to communicate with not only us but also with the fisherman. This makes our daily deliveries unique, special, and as fresh as we could possibly get.

Our menu wouldn't be the same without The Seafood Merchants. Guest favorites such as the Lake Superior Whitefish, Grilled Ora King Salmon and the PGC Fish & Chips are all prepared in partnership with The Seafood Merchants. We have been buying whitefish from them for over 20 years!

Working with vendors you know you can count on makes all the difference when running a small operation like Prairie Grass. Sometimes things slip through the cracks, and in a panic we call Seafood Merchants for a last minute delivery—luckily for us they wake up at 3 am every day. Without fail, within a few hours we see the Seafood Merchants truck pull into our parking lot. Thank you to the entire Seafood Merchants Team for everything you do for us here at Prairie Grass Cafe.
