CHAMBER UPDATES | JANUARY 30, 2025 | |
This month's opening newsletter (usually written by me) is brought to you by ChatGPT, an AI tool that will be discussed at the upcoming Lunch and Learn on February 11th at LaSalle High School (details below...please register!!! This technology can be instrumental in your business.) You can look back at my original February 2020 newsletter at the following LINK and compare the sophistication of that message to the one below to see where AI can take you. Enjoy!

Five Years of Leadership: A Look Back at Dave Moravec’s Impact on the Colerain Chamber of Commerce written by ChatGPT:
It feels like just yesterday that the Colerain Chamber of Commerce welcomed Dave Moravec as its new President and CEO. The February 2020 newsletter introduced him as an entrepreneurial leader ready to make an impact, eager to meet each member personally within his first 90 days. Fast forward five years, 1,825 days, or 43,800 hours, and Dave’s tenure has been nothing short of transformative.
From a Newcomer to a Community Leader
When Dave first arrived from Effingham, Illinois, he hit the ground running—launching a “Meet the President” event at Colerain Bowl (which, interestingly, no longer exists) and preparing for the Hometown Hero Gala, which would later be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, in 2025, Dave continues that same energy through one-on-one meetings, coffee chats at Panera, and countless engagements to strengthen relationships with the business community.
Growing the Chamber & Expanding Influence
The 2020 introduction highlighted Dave’s history with various chambers, but today, that involvement has evolved into a network of over 100 chamber leaders in Ohio and many more across the country. His focus on thought leadership and collaboration has not only benefited Colerain businesses but has also positioned the chamber as a model for others.
Under his leadership, the Colerain Chamber has grown significantly, solidifying its role as a key advocate for local businesses. Programs like the golf league at Pebble Creek, now in its sixth year, continue to thrive, and exciting new initiatives, such as the first-ever Chamber Travel trip, are taking shape.
Personal and Professional Milestones
Beyond chamber leadership, Dave remains engaged in his alma mater, recently co-chairing his college’s 40th class reunion. His professional journey, once marked by a four-year tenure in sales, is now defined by five years at the helm of the Colerain Chamber—a testament to his commitment and success.
On a personal note, Dave and his wife, Patti, have not only built strong connections in Colerain but have also welcomed Lily, their poodle, into their family. His well-known love for fried chicken remains steadfast, with frequent visits to Richie’s Chicken and Raising Cane’s. And while he still enjoys karaoke and open mic nights, Steve Loechtenfeldt has been known to take the microphone away from him at Third Thursday events—perhaps for the greater good!
Looking Ahead
The momentum continues as Dave and Beth Jones gear up for the Annual Awards Dinner on February 20th. The Third Thursday networking event in January mirrored Dave’s very first meet-and-greet in February 2020, showing how far the chamber has come. Dave remains as dedicated as ever to fostering a thriving business community in Colerain.
Final Thoughts
What started as an ambitious goal of meeting every chamber member in 90 days has evolved into a five-year journey of leadership, growth, and community impact. And while the Board of Directors has yet to ask Dave to "take a hike," his commitment to the chamber remains unwavering.

Founded in 2021, Pour Mobile Wine and Pour Candle Co. is the embodiment of creativity, passion, and community. What began as a love for wine and cocktails has blossomed into a multifaceted venture that brings people together through unique experiences.
The journey started with a restored 1968 Santa Fe camper, transformed into a charming mobile wine bar offering bespoke bartending services. Combining vintage aesthetics with expertly curated beverages, this distinctive bar quickly became a sought-after addition to events, celebrations, and gatherings.
In the same year, the business expanded into the world of candle making, inspired by the rich aromas and stories of wine and cocktails. These hand-poured candles captured the essence of beloved drinks, creating a sensory experience that bridges craftsmanship and creativity.
By September 2024, Pour Candle Co. had grown into a brick-and-mortar studio, offering immersive candle-making workshops that serve as a hub for community, connection, and artistic exploration. Plans are underway to incorporate an in-house bar celebrating the artistry of wine, cocktails, and spirits.
Join us for our Women's Networking "After Hours" event Tuesday, May 13th at

Beer & Biz Networking
T
Beers & Biz is a monthly B2B Networking event that includes monthly topical roundtable discussions and open networking.
Roundtable Discussions are broken into primary areas of leadership roles and function and are designed to be topical discussions facilitated by a local leader in each group. These groups are great opportunities for peer-to-peer engagement, sharing of industry best practices, and real-time learnings and struggles of currently relevant topics. They're also great for networking across your primary job function to meet other people in your role in different industry verticals.
| While Beer & Biz is not hosted by the Colerain Chamber, Dave serves on the steering committee and we are glad to support this opportunity for our members to connect, network, and engage with business professionals from across the city in a fresh, dynamic setting. The location changes monthly, and we will update our monthly calendar with the details as soon as they are provided by the Beer & Biz steering committee. | |
