Dear Parents,
Happy Spring! We are all excited to see the sun shining. As I walk around the school, it is clear that spring is in the air. There are faculty and students preparing for planting in the school garden, EY has started growing strawberries, and excellent writing pieces about spring!
This week is the Chumash Presentation where second grade students are presented with their own Chumash or Bible, on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:30PM. The second graders are very excited to showcase all they’ve learned.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023 we will observe Yom Hazikaron (Israeli Memorial Day). On this day we remember those who have lost their lives while serving in the Israel Defense Force, and those who have lost their lives as victims of terror. We will hold an age appropriate ceremony for our students in grades 2-5 where students will recite prayers, light a candle, and participate in a peace themed activity in memory of those who have lost their lives. A special thank you to Rashi Brashevitzky, our Judaic Studies Director, for organizing this very meaningful commemoration service.
As we prepare to celebrate Yom HaAtzma’ut (Israel’s Independence Day) on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the faculty have been planning many spirited events to mark the day. The early year’s students will take a virtual trip to Israel and in Primary years the students will join together for Israeli themed activities and to celebrate Israel's 75th Birthday! I thank all the faculty and staff for making this day so special for our students!
Please remember that school is closed on Friday, May 28, 2023 in order to facilitate meaningful conferences. These student led/student involved conferences are an opportunity for our students to share their experiences and learning with you. Please make sure to sign up for a conference time slot in ParentSquare.
Shavuah Tov, wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
