Living Like the Saints
St. Gemma Galgani had many visions of Jesus, Mary and her Guardian Angel. During this time they showed her comfort as she was gifted with the stigmata. A challenge this month is to learn about the stigmata. You can find a helpful article about her mystical life and stigmata by using the QR code in the LLTS calendar or clicking here!
Holy Thursday is the beginning of the Paschal Triduum. The summit of the Liturgical year. St. Luke's will have masses for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Vigil! Consider attending this significant time of reflection and prayer leading us to the Easter Vigil.

CRS: Called to Share Bread for Life
Holy Week, a sacred time in the liturgical year, invites us to journey with Christ through his Passion, Death and Resurrection. As we witness the Last Supper and Jesus' gift of the Eucharist, we are reminded of our call to be bread broken for others. Let us draw strength from the Bread of Life and dedicate ourselves to serving our sisters and brothers who bear heavy crosses, bringing hope and the joy of the resurrection to the world. Divine Mercy Sunday
The focus of Divine Mercy Sunday centers on the gift of mercy and love given through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. In a world that hears a message of emptiness or hate, Divine Mercy Sunday proclaims the path to peace is through forgiveness and tenderness. Join us at St. Luke’s on April 27th to implore God’s mercy on the ills that we are experiencing in today’s world. We will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 1:00pm followed by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00pm.

Love Lunches
St. Luke’s will again participate in the Love Lunch program which serves summer lunches to Ankeny children. There are 2 Love Lunch programs – one on the east side of Ankeny and one on the west side. St. Luke’s participates in the west side Love Lunch at Sunset Park.
You can sign up to help at: https://bit.ly/3RE9EbL
Options include food preparation, or set up and serve. You can sign up as many times as you wish and easily change your sign up days and times if you need to.
There will be a second sign up genius available on May 1 which will include all the Love Lunch dates/times sponsored by other Ankeny churches. We are doing this since we realize that St. Luke’s dates may not work for you and instead, you need to sign up during the weeks sponsored by other Ankeny churches.
OTHER WAYS TO HELP: DONATE
Individually wrapped Teddy grahams, goldfish or animal crackers, granola bars, fruit cups. Gift cards to Sam’s Club, Costco, Fareway, Aldi’s or Hy-Vee. Contact Doris Larkins at phillarkins@yahoo.com for donation instructions.
