New Altar Linens

There are several new altar linens ready to use, especially on this Easter Sunday. The generous donations given in memory of Deb Wilson were used to purchase a fresh supply of assorted linens. Deb would be so pleased! Thank you to everyone who gave a donation to the Altar Guild.

Community Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteers are crucial to the Ronald McDonald House mission of providing a home away from home for the families of children hospitalized at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Families stay as long as their child is hospitalized and are never asked to pay anything.

EMHC Ann Arbor is in need of volunteers for the upcoming summer months. If you are interested or need further information, please contact Mary Moffett via email at mmoffett@rmhcannarbor.org

Notes on Children and God

by Kathie Sandmaier.

This may sound harsh...but children are better at it than grownups! As a philosophy professor said "what you have here is a glittering generality." What I see is an observable truth. God is not filtered by our very young. They do not approach the divine through a "glass darkly" but with bright light.

Humans below the age of 10 are some of the best theologians I know. Here are some examples exhibited in my work with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd over the last thirty or so years:

  • "There WAS something before Creation happened. It was LOVE. Creation couldn't have happened without love."
  • "There was a HUUUUGE crowd!!!! They were all hungry!!! Jesus saw all the people!!! Every ONE!! And he FED them...Every ONE"
  • "To be sheltered is to be in the palm of God"

Remember that you would be welcome to observe in the atrium sometime.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

The children meet in the atrium the 1st - 3rd Sundays of each month (please visit anytime); and remain in the sanctuary to participate in the service on the 4th (& occasional 5th) Sunday.

You are encouraged to ask questions of, or schedule a visit to the atrium with Kathie, Kristen, or Shannon.
