Application Now Open for the Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship!

Are you interested in studying or interning in Germany? Apply now for the Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship! The Gilman-DAAD partnership provides awards of up to $5,000 for eligible undergraduate students to study or intern abroad for academic credit at German higher education institutions.


The next application deadline is March 7, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific Time for programs starting between May 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025.

Call for Applications

DAAD Post-Doctoral Fellows at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) 2024/25


The Paul H. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is pleased to announce the opportunity for outstanding scholars to conduct research in Washington, D.C., on “The United States, Europe, and World Order.” During the academic year 2024-2025 up to two post-doctoral fellowships will be awarded for a ten (10) month period from September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. Research and related activities will focus on “the roles of the United States and Germany at a crucial moment in world history.”

For Undergraduate Pell Grant Recipients

Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships


The Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship Program provides 40 additional scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students per year who are recipients of Federal Pell Grants to study and/or intern for academic credit in Germany through the Gilman Program. This deadline is for in-person programs or internships that begin between May 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025.

#DWIHzeitgeist –Science Diplomacy in Practice


Join the DWIH New York and UAS7 – German Universities of Applied Sciences for their #DWIHzeitgeist series to learn about ways that science diplomacy plays out in Germany and the US. The panel explores the relationship between science diplomacy and applied research on shared sustainability questions in Germany and the United States. The purpose of the event is to highlight various aspects of ways that science diplomacy plays out in each country through cross-national applied research – especially in support of sustainability at the local level.
