The Ecko Eagle Newsletter

Volume 4 - Issue 3

President's Message

Greetings,

It’s been a while since we’ve connected. As you might remember, we decided to change our company newsletter to a quarterly distribution instead of monthly. We did this out of respect for your valuable time.

I am thrilled to share some very exciting news about our company’s growth in the first quarter of 2023. We have surpassed our expectations! We’ve added more vehicles to our fleet, more employees to our roster and more affiliates to our growing network of worldwide service providers. We are on the grow and able to serve you in even more countries and cities than ever before.

I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of our team members. Last year we added Lori Lange to our team. Lori is based in Florida, a huge tourist destination. Lori has been connecting with hotels throughout the area to provide service for hotel guests at some of Florida’s finest resorts. If you’re headed to Florida, we’ve got you covered in any city!

We began a campaign at the beginning of the year to donate .25 cents to the National Limousine Association for every trip we complete. We feel it is important to support our national trade association as well as supporting the Greater California Livery Association. We also attended the international limousine convention in Las Vegas in March. We attended many educational classes that keep us on the forefront of customer service delivery, technology, safety, marketing, chauffeur training and more.

We will continue to expand our operations across the globe. We have also invested heavily in our technology and operations. We are actively recruiting personnel to help meet the demands of our growing customer base. These achievements are only the beginning of our journey. I am confident that, with the continued support of our customers and affiliates that we will break records and reach new heights of success.

Thank you for your trust and confidence in our company and our team. I hope you enjoy the rest of our newsletter. We always include an educational article in our newsletter that is intended for corporate travelers. On behalf of our entire team, I sincerely thank you for being a loyal client. Remember, we deliver - Satisfaction in Every Turn™.

Best Wishes,

Harry Dillon

Ecko Pledges a Quarter per Ride to

The National Limousine Association

The National Limousine Association represents hundreds of limousine services across the globe. They are the only organization representing our industry by walking the halls of Congress to ensure fair and equitable laws and regulations for us. In addition, the NLA offers education that helps keep our passengers safe.

As our sound and voice in the luxury transportation industry, we need their continued representation, support and education. We have decided to donate a quarter for every reservation we serve. This our way of giving back to them, as a "Thank You" for all the years they have stood by us. Our donation is specifically earmarked for 50% to go toward the PAC fund and 50% toward general expenses of the NLA.

We are asking our industry affiliates to consider joining us in donating to the NLA! Together, this small donation can really make a difference - One Quarter at a Time.

Harry & Sruti Go to Washington, DC

Last week our CEO, Harry Dhillon and his wife, Sruti Dhillon (Our CFO) attended the National Limousine Association's annual Day on the Hill. Ecko Worldwide was proud to be a premier sponsor and advocate of this very important day.

Through education, fundraising and meeting with our elected representatives we can make a difference that will benefit us all. Harry became so inspired by his visit to our nation's capital and the lobbying work accomplished that he has committed to donate money to the NLA's Political Action Committee once each quarter.

Realizing the power of membership voices, Harry further committed to serve on the NLA's Membership committee to help recruit additional transportation providers to voice the issues and concerns facing our industry and bring about positive changes that directly impact our business as well as our clients across America. We are proud of the commitment our company has made towards the future of our industry.

Equality in Luxury Transportation

Just two decades ago the luxury transportation industry was a mostly male dominated industry with very few female chauffeurs amongst a sea of men. It was even less unheard of for women to own or manage transportation companies. In fact, the highest concentration of women working in the industry was in dispatch and reservations in a supporting role.

Today, some of the finest ground transportation companies are owned, operated or managed by some very talented women who serve on the Women's Leadership Council of the National Limousine Association. The number of female chauffeurs has drastically risen and we have seen talented female fleet managers and mechanics. Our Chief Financial Officer is female. It seems that we have finally broken down the stereotypical roles that society once defined out industry.

On April 18th, the NLA and Chauffeur Driven Magazine along with the Women's Leadership Council hosted a ladies only webinar: Claim Your Game: Reject Work-Life Balance for a Life that Works for You. Presented by Barbara Burgess, co-founder of Corluma Consulting, women learned how to win an outdated work-life game and learned about how sleep, rest, and play fuel productivity and drive outcomes.

During this webinar, Barbara encouraged women to make a list to prioritize things that they loved and didn’t like in order to rearrange the way we approach our daily lives. We commend all the talented women of this industry and the positive impact they have at home and at work!

Ask Ecko

Question: What happens if my flight is delayed while I am in the air and I can't notify you?

Christa B.

Answer: This is a concern of many travelers. We use sophisticated software that monitors each our our airport pick-up reservatons and notifies us of any potential delays. You will never need to worry about notifying us. We already know.

Know Your Rights for Delayed or Canceled Flights

Airlines don't guarantee their schedules, and you should realize this when planning your trip. There are many things that can-and often do-make it impossible for flights to arrive on time.

If your flight is delayed, try to find out how late it will be. Weather and mechanical problems can turn out to be more complex than initially thought. If the problem is with weather or air traffic control, all flights will probably be late and there's not much you or the airline can do.

If your flight is experiencing a delay, you might try to arrange another flight. If you find a flight on another airline, ask the first airline if it will endorse your ticket to the new carrier. There is no rule requiring them to do this. If your flight is canceled, most airlines will re-book you on their next flight to your destination if space is available.

Each airline has its own policies about delayed passengers. There are no federal requirements. Ask the airline if it will pay for meals or a hotel. Contrary to popular belief, airlines are not required to compensate passengers whose flights are delayed or canceled.

Compensation is required by law on domestic trips only when you are "bumped" from a flight that is oversold. U.S. airlines must provide passengers with food and water no later than two hours after a tarmac delay begins.

Pro Tip:

It is sometimes easier to make changes to your air travel by phone rather than at the airport ticket counter.
