Looking at The Road Ahead

When the time was come that he should be received up, He steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.

~Luke 9:51

Every day we face uncertainties. Will our loved ones make it home safely? Will the money last till the end of the month? Will the stock market crash again and wipe out our retirement?

If we only trust the whimsical and ever-changing circumstances of the world, we would be very anxious people. But those who trust in God know the future is secure, no matter where it takes them. We lean on God’s promises. We are promised forgiveness.

Through confession and repentance our sins are covered through the blood of Christ, and our eternity is secure through His resurrection. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow.

This coming Sunday is Palm Sunday. What looked like victory ended up a catastrophe until God had the final word and victory! Prepare your hearts and minds again for the Passion of Christ. Clean your conscience, set your face like a flint through Passion Week, until we can again celebrate the glorious resurrection that defeated sin and death so that we can truly live.

We may not know what will happen or where this life will take us, but in Christ, we know how the story ends!
