Happy Cesar Chavez Day

Today, as we commemorate Cesar Chavez Day, LAEP reflects on his enduring legacy and the profound connection to our mission of educational equity and community empowerment. Chavez's unwavering commitment to social justice, dignity, and the power of collective action resonates deeply with our work to ensure all children and families in Los Angeles have the opportunity to thrive. We honor his memory by continuing to build strong communities, advocate for equitable access, and empower the next generation to be informed, engaged leaders, carrying forward the spirit of his vital contributions.

Our offices are closed totoday to honor Cesar Chavez Day and will reopen on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

📕 READ ACROSS AMERICA

LAEP celebrated #ReadAcrossAmericaWeek!

Our Early Head Start teachers engaged our youngest learners with fun activities. This included face painting and custom Dr. Seuss paper accessories. 🥰 Isn't she just the cutest little things. (get it?)

We were also thrilled to have LaCora Stephens, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Denise Jauregui, Transform Schools Coordinator, volunteer as readers at Ford Boulevard Elementary, one of LAUSD’s largest and most beautiful elementary campuses. They shared engaging stories with 4th and 5th graders, reinforcing the importance of literacy. We’re proud to partner with Ford Boulevard as a Community School.
