Have You Filled Out Your Waiver?
The class of 2023 is going on a white water rafting on the Deerfield River in Western Massachusetts on May 25. This beautiful ten-mile trip through mild white water is the perfect outing for the soon-to-be graduates, and parents must complete the rafting waiver available through the health Magnus link in onBrooks for their student to participate. Specific details and times for these days will be available at a later date.

Boston Marathon Bombing Survivors Visit

The prom will be held this year at The Grand in Boston on May 14. Having a fun and safe event requires attention to many details. Please review the Prom 2023 Weekend Information sheet for information about ticket sales, procedure and off-campus permissions.

Summer Storage
Move-out day will be here before you know it. Please note that Brooks does not offer on-campus storage in the summer. All boarding students must move out of their dorm rooms completely by June 3, when school closes for summer. Our official storage provider, Dorm Room Movers is here to help:

  • They send you boxes and tape. You pack. That’s it.
  • They pick up your items, store them while you’re away and deliver everything back before you return.
  • Graduating or not returning to campus? Dorm Room Movers can also ship boxes home or to your new school.

Dorm Room Movers offers up to $100 coverage included per box or unboxed item, climate-protected storage and 24/7 security. (They are BBB A+ accredited).

Register now and leave storage and shipping to Dorm Room Movers! Have questions? Learn more, text (856) 369-3676 or call (888) 769-3676.
Academics
2023-2024 Course Requests
In recent advisor meetings, students returning to Brooks next year kicked off the course request process. This is an exciting time in which students have an opportunity to consider their future both at Brooks and beyond. Students will work with their advisors to make decisions about their 2023-2024 course requests. The process will conclude on May 2. Please be in touch with your student's advisor if you have any questions.
Updated Course Catalog
Our course options for next year are now available to view in the 2023-2024 Course Catalog. You can also find it on our Academics Overview page.
Look Inside Three Classes This Week!
Go along with Associate Head of School for Academic Affairs Susanna Waters on a peek into an Advanced Capstone History thesis defense, a "Shark Tank"-style presentation of Honors Neuroscience students' pitches for toys with different childhood developmental stages in mind, and a third-form English class archives dive into Brooks School in the 1940s (to help create context for the book students are reading, Catcher in the Rye). Get all the details and see photos from the classroom activities in the Deans' Den Blog.

Upcoming ACT and SAT Testing
Registration for the May 6 SAT at Brooks has passed. The registration deadline for the June 3 SAT is May 4.

Brooks is an unlisted test center for the SAT on June 3. Only Brooks students can register to take the test at Brooks. The test center code for Brooks is 22584.

Brooks is not a test center for the ACT on June 10, but students who wish to take the ACT should plan ahead and find a test center near home for the June 10 ACT.

Students and/or their families are responsible for registering for the SAT and/or the ACT. Any questions can be directed to your student's college counselor or to Brooks' testing coordinator, Interim Director of the Learning Center Karina Moltz.
Fifth-Form Students: College Fair on Sunday
Colleges from all over the country will have admissions representatives ready to meet students on April 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Athletic Center at Brooks. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about a broad range of schools and perhaps even meet the person who will be reading their application.

  • Due to the number of attendees expected, only students may enter the event. Parents are not allowed inside the fair.
Health & Wellness
Director of Health and Wellness Services Melissa Donais presented a weighted blanket to Shelley Osafo-Grant '25, one of the winners of last week’s "Step and Sleep Wellness Challenge" — to log 12,000 steps per day and eight hours of sleep each night.
Physical Therapy Services Available
The Health & Wellness Center team would like to remind families that Brooks offers physical therapy services to students on-campus in the Athletic Center twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Bill Gordon, PT, of Gordon PT will see students who have an order from a healthcare provider for physical therapy. Students can see Director of Health and Wellness Melissa Donais for an order, or can obtain one from their personal healthcare provider.
