PRIVATE SESSIONS: ACCEPTING APPOINTMENTS

At Ruby Karen Project, we highly recommend specialized sessions for students who have been training with us for over a year. These sessions serve as invaluable tools for students to focus on specific skills, tailor their routines to align with their personality, character, and skillset, and explore other areas of the performing arts. Not only do these sessions contribute to enhancing their confidence, but they also provide a unique opportunity for self-discovery. Particularly, these sessions are most popular among students preparing for performances in community and professional settings, as they play a significant role in their artistic and technical development.

There are still a few spots left! Sign-Up Now.
Our school promotes camaraderie amongst other aerial arts communities, and this year, we at the Ruby Karen Project together with Pacific Coast Aerial Arts will host workshops with show demonstrations. We highly encourage our students (Kids and Teens) to attend this excursion and invite our apprentices to participate as a role model for inspiration to the younger aerialists. This event is sponsored by Aerial Arts America.

Introducing a NEW CLASS:

MOVEMENT AND DANCE
FOR AERIALISTS

Every Wednesdays & Fridays @3pm
Starts May 31
Feeling awkward when up in the air. This class will help you work on the most basic technique for movement that will follow you through in any pathway you choose, whether performing aerials, acting, theater arts, modelling, pageantry and even your day to day encounters.

Learn proper posture, how to correctly point your feet, extend your extremities, appreciate the execution of an épaulement, which gives you the accent at the end of each skill and greatly contributes to confidence, boldness and conviction.
The class starts at the barre to work on balance, form and endurance; on the ground to work on core strength and center space to work on combination series and movement.
These exercises are specially applied to help the aerialist attain grace and fluidity through adagio and leg/ arm extensions, ultimately developing balance, core strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and body awareness.

WHAT IS THE APPRENTICE PROGRAM
The Apprentice program is geared towards recreational and pre-professional training in performing arts, both from a production’s front and backend. It is a contract that consist of technique classes in aerials and acrobatics combined with practice sessions. Supplemental benefits and opportunities include membership in RKP's performing team, the Orange County Aerial Arts (OCAA), demonstrations at several popular venues and community events including the OC Fair, Festival of the Arts - Laguna Beach, Newport Beach Film Festival, South Coast Plaza's Festival of Children, Thousand Lights @ Sherman Gardens, OC Fairground's Winterfest and more. The program also prepares the apprentice for a single competition event at the West Coast Aerial Arts Festival.

Additionally, the apprentice learns added skills not offered to regular students, including ground acrobatics, circus arts, contortion, hand manipulation skills, acro-adagio/ acro-gymnastic partnering, and dance movement in many forms.

Lastly, the apprentice gets to have a one-on-one goal oriented discussion with us and undergoes a yearly placement examination to secure academic growth and maturity in the specific discipline/s they have chosen. It is also in this program where the student is prepped for higher education or professional undertakings.

If you are interested, email us so we can discuss the process more in detail. Click here for more information
