When it comes to making soups, you can make a big batch and store it in small containers or freeze to have a quick healthy meal when time is tight later in the week. Try substituting certain ingredients according to what you have on hand in your fridge and pantry. This will help keep the cost lower while wasting less veggies that may not get used otherwise. Learn how to make your own stock for soups below in the Tips and Tricks section of this newsletter.

How to Make Stock with Kitchen Scraps
Instead of buying stock, try making your own with kitchen scraps. You can use carrot or onion peels, fresh veggies that have started to wilt, or bones from a chicken or turkey – whatever you have on hand! Just put your scraps into a freezer bag and freeze them until you are ready to make stock. When you are ready, boil them for a rich and flavorful broth. This can help you save money!
