READING FOR THE DAY

Psalm 57:1-11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

God is my refuge, especially when I am the most vulnerable.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Our Father, thank you for the many ways you comfort us when we are vulnerable. Help us always to find our refuge in you. Amen.

2024 - Endings and Beginnings - Part 12: Skye Farm Camp

Today’s photo is of the Chapel area at Skye Farm Camp. I find it a beautiful photo because of the beauty of Nature in this area of the Adirondacks. It is also a place of incredible beauty because of lives I have seen transformed by the ministry of committed followers of Jesus who proclaim God’s love in word and action.

Campers return year after year because of the magic of the beauty of Nature and being surrounded by God’s love. The camp has also played a part in the development of Christian pastors and lay leaders.

While the atmosphere of a Church Camp or magnificent cathedral can be inspiring; what changes and transforms lives is God’s love expressed through the words and actions of the faithful.

Even when the Summer is over the beauty and memories attached to this place make it a haven of peace and place where one feels close to God.

Today’s photo was taken at Skye Farm Camp located in Adirondacks outside of Warrensburg, NY in the Summer 0f 2001.

Shalom,

David E. Smith, Pastor
