For Everything There is a Season

For many of us, summer brings welcome changes to our daily schedules and routines. The seasons themselves not only point to the breadth and magnificence of the Lord’s handiwork, but also serve as a reminder that our loving heavenly Father has, in his perfect wisdom, established times of rest and renewal for his creation and his creatures.

Our worship in the upcoming summer months will provide both rest and renewal for many of our musicians, and opportunity for those who would like to continue being involved in music for worship, though perhaps in a different capacity. It is also a perfect time to get involved if you have not done so before.

Starting June 11 and continuing through August 13, the First Presbyterian Church Choir for All Ages will begin rehearsing and singing for our 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening worship services. Rehearsals will be from 4:45-5:45 p.m. in the choir room (MB110). We hope to see you on June 11.

Our various directors will rehearse and conduct the choir, which gives singers the opportunity to be exposed to various perspectives on singing in worship. This is a particularly excellent opportunity for families to sing the Lord’s praises together in a choir. Last summer, we were averaging about forty singers, and we would love to see that continue or even grow!

The first rehearsal is June 11, and we will sing in the worship service that same night!

Would you please prayerfully consider joining us this summer? You can register online on the Music Ministry web page (firstprescolumbia.org/choirs). If you have any questions, please contact me at (803) 799-9062, Ext. 254, or at dcole@firstprescolumbia.org.

Blessings,

Daniel Cole

Director of Music Ministry
