CHILDREN'S MISSIONS
CBF Children’s Mission Day is back for 2025 after a hiatus during covid and beyond, and we’re so glad! This past Saturday, five of our older grade-schoolers enjoyed a day of fun and learning with other area churches, focusing on the story of Jesus' feeding of the five thousand and God’s call of us to care for others. The children spent the morning moving through Bible study, missions, and recreation rotations. After a break for lunch, they concluded the day with worship and an ice cream party. The children also donated money to help offset the cost of the Backpack Buddy bags they assembled during their mission rotation. Many thanks to Cara Lynn Vogel, Jesse Vogel, Claire Carothers, and Jess Helms for chaperoning!

CENTERPOINT IN MARCH
March 19: We will hear from our very own Michael Hood in his self-titled presentation "What To Do the Next Time You Get Hit by a Cannonball." This is an exploration of the life of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the imaginative spirituality that he championed, the spiritual exercises that he authored, and how these things are useful for us today, coming from FBC's own Ignatian spiritual director-in-training. Ignatian Spirituality is all about the use of the imagination, our "affect," and seeking God in the whole of life. However, it is also extremely practical with time-tested practices in discernment and devotion as its foundation. If a spirituality system from a 16th century Catholic order might seem the furthest thing from FBC to you, then you should definitely be interested!
