12 Years of Community College Peacebuildng Seminars

We’re happy to share the success of this year’s 12th Annual National Community College Peacebuilding Seminar, held virtually over three Fridays in November. With 80 participants—students, educators, and peacebuilders from across the U.S. and abroad—the seminar fostered meaningful discussions, insights, and connections on the critical role of peacebuilding in education and beyond.

From sessions on leadership and conflict transformation to innovative conversations on ecological threats, virtual exchange, and community activism, this year’s seminar highlighted the diverse approaches to fostering peace in our communities and globally.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible presenters who shared their expertise and to the participants whose engagement made this seminar such a vibrant and enriching experience. If you want to be part of the planning for next year's program, let us know.

Couldn’t attend? Don’t worry! You can watch the recorded sessions on our YouTube playlist here.

Forage Center Conversation: Narratives and Storytelling

An ongoing series, Forage Center Conversations brings humanitarians and peacebuilders together with Forage Center staff to discuss pertinent topics.

Since 2020, Forage Center staff have interviewed professionals across the humanitarian and peacebuilding spectrum to discuss hard-hitting topics. See the full playlist here, or click the link below to view the latest one.

Our latest Conversation released this month is moderated by Nikki Stinson and presented by Kitty Saunders. Through the lens of storytelling, we explore how our narratives shape decisions, foster understanding of conflicts, and provide agency in navigating our paths while connecting with the arcs of others.

Happy Holidays and New Year 2025

And finally as we close out 2024, a big thank you from the Forage Center - our staff, board, and students - for supporting us this past year. The need for humanitarian and peacebuilding responses in 2025 will be greater than ever before.

A new generation of humanitarian professionals will be needed to face the challenges we face both domestically - in responding to natural disasters - and globally - in dealing with conflict, war, and the impact of climate change.

The Forage Center is at the forefront of preparing the next generation of peacebuilders and humanitarians to respond

to these challenges and make the world a better place for all.

Happy holidays and all the best for 2025.
