"Where to Meet God" From Pastor Rob
In our Ash Wednesday worship service, I invited our church to practice silence and solitude as spiritual disciplines this year in the season of Lent. The challenge is, from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday, spend 30 minutes a day in silence and solitude. I believe God will speak to you, in the silence, if you take up this practice
I found it to be difficult. In the silence, I think about the NCAA basketball tournament, the workout I’m going to try to get done at the YMCA, the tasks I need to get accomplished that afternoon, and 1000 other things. As soon as I drive one distraction from my mind, another takes its place. Some days I can get really quiet and centered so that I give God my full attention. Other days, I spend 30 minutes reaching for God with one hand and fending off competing thoughts with the other. READ MORE

Food Pantry Update
Newfreezer
Did you know that each week it takes 40+ volunteers to prepare for and run a weekly food distribution? We are grateful to everyone to donates time or money to help the food pantry run smoothly! Thank you to all our volunteers who shelve donations, drive to the food bank, unload deliveries, bag groceries, load cars, help distribute food, deliver groceries and more! It’s a huge undertaking and we can’t do it without volunteers!

In January the Durham Food Bank donated an additional upright freezer to our Food Pantry! This is a much needed freezer!
We purchased new shelving to organize the diapers and wipes. In addition to food, baby items are a huge blessing to our clients.

With donated funds we purchase items such as oatmeal, cereal and peanut butter to help supplement what we receive from the USDA.

Thank you for your support!
