We have incredible and supportive founders in the Lawlor family, and each day we strive to continue the mission that Matt and Rosemary had in mind when they created Ceca Foundation. We also endeavor to honor Mary Lawlor’s memory and to be reminded of the amazing caregivers that made such a difference in her life at Knollwood Life Plan Community.
I come to work each day not only to deliver on that mission, but because I am infinitely thankful for the team members that work for Ceca, and most importantly, for our care community partners that understand how much it means to say ‘thank you’ to their caregivers. Maybe it’s a dream, but we believe that even simple gestures of kindness and gratitude in return can put the human touch back in healthcare and change the landscape as we know it.
I could not be prouder to say that since the start of the program, we have seen over 12,000 exceptional caregivers honored for their kindness, compassion, teamwork and more. Additionally, 45,000 acts of care have been recognized by staff members, patients, residents, clients, and loved ones at our partner care communities, and 1,400 Ceca Award recipients are CNAs, nurses, housekeepers, foodservice and other healthcare workers that deserve to be thanked. We have also seen real increases in employee retention and satisfaction in our partner communities, which has positively impacted quality of life and the human experience for those that are cared for.
Finally, I’m thankful for this opportunity to lead the organization into its next decade and beyond. I’m excited to see what we can do in the years to come, and I look forward to the many more care communities, caregivers, patients, residents and loved ones we can positively impact.
