Prayer & Pledge

School Prayer: Oh God, creator of the universe, You hold each of us in the palm of your hand. Extend to each member of the Villa community an awareness of your presence, your healing and your peace. Help us to love and respect one another, to develop our gifts to the best of our abilities, and to use those gifts in the service of others. Help us work together to grow into mature Christian people. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son and our brother. Amen.

Pledge of Allegiance: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Dear Villa Family,

In addition to providing outstanding academic education, it is the goal of our faculty and staff to help students form behavioral habits that will provide them with the foundation for a life of happiness and peace. Fifteen hundred years of Benedictine tradition have shown that those who live according to the values found in the Rule of Benedict discover a life rooted in God providing deep joy and quiet peace. This month, we have been focusing on the value of stewardship. Stewardship is a value that is based in reverence for all creation. Ways of showing stewardship are doing your best to develop the gifts God has given to you, taking responsibility for your actions, thinking before acting and being willing to take consequences for your choices, respecting and caring for your property as well as the property of others, and helping to keep our school and all Villa property in good condition. We look forward to hearing our first graders read reflections they have written on how to be good stewards of the Earth.

Peace,

Soshana Bosley

Special Thanks To Mrs. Kolar: We thank Mrs. Kolar for filling in these past few months for Mrs. Laverty. She has done an incredible job with our students in art class as well as preparing the hallways with beautiful artwork from our students for Gallery Night. Please thank Mrs. Kolar for all that she has done this week when you see her!

Gallery Night:  Special thanks to Jackie and Wally Carroll for all of their work in hosting Gallery Night last Friday. We also thank Mrs. Kolar and Mrs. Herrmann for displaying all of the beautiful student artwork around the school building and Mr. Tieman for working with our group performances. We also thank all who participated in the raffle. FAP made $1400 from the raffle and the lucky winner is Judy Cosset. This was FAP’s most successful raffle and we are very grateful to everyone who purchased tickets to support the arts programs at Villa.

Montessori Update: Mrs. Stacey Brosky has communicated her desire to change her responsibilities at Villa Madonna Montessori and move back solely into the classroom. The Montessori program has thrived under Mrs. Brosky’s direction for the past fifteen years and for that we are grateful. Mrs. Brosky is excited to be able to focus her efforts on the students in her care at Villa Madonna Montessori in the future. Effective July 1, Ms. Molly Buten, will be promoted to Director of Villa Madonna Montessori. This is a very well deserved promotion for Ms. Molly, who has made tremendous contributions to the Montessori over the past ten years. In addition to teaching her students, she has led numerous training sessions for the faculty, mentored new hires, and supervised intern teachers. Ms. Buten’s teaching experience in Montessori schools as well as her administrative experience operating a Montessori school in the past have made her a tremendous asset to Villa Madonna Montessori. Please join me in wishing the very best to Ms. Molly and Mrs. Stacey as they positively impact our Montessori students and their families in their new roles.

If you would like to donate tabs, please send them to the third grade classrooms.
