Join Mass Digital Health and Mass General Brigham for the first event in our Mass Digital Health Sandbox Networking series. These events bring the dynamic Massachusetts digital health ecosystem together to connect in person and to showcase the amazing work of the R&D centers in the Sandbox Network. Each event will feature a discussion on a topic of interest as well as an opportunity to network. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.
In May, join us for Medical XR Unleashed – Exploring the Potential of Emerging Technologies with Leading Health Systems and Vendors in MA. Panelists will explore the current state of medical extended reality (MXR), what to expect in the future, and how Massachusetts is uniquely equipped to solve healthcare challenges with MXR.

Healthy Aging Challenge Finalists Announced | |
MeHI is pleased to announce the eight finalists for the Healthy Aging Sandbox Challenge. The Challenge was designed to find digital health solutions that can help older adults live as well and independently as possible by supporting their physical, mental, and social health.
The finalists will participate in a two-month, virtual 'Introduction to the Massachusetts Digital Health Ecosystem' program. The introduction will include a speaker series featuring prominent voices from across the ecosystem, including venture capitalists, successful digital health innovators, and leading researchers.
During the program, participants will also be assessed on their testing and validation needs and then matched with members of the MA Digital Health Sandbox Network, a group of cutting-edge research and development organizations supporting digital health companies. The finalists will compete for a total of up to $200,000 in support to scope detailed testing and validation projects with their Sandbox partner.

Funds Available for Hiring Tech Interns
Massachusetts Tech Firms Eligible for Stipends this Summer
|
Under the MassTech’s Intern Partnership Program, eligible Massachusetts companies can be reimbursed for up to 50% of the intern's hourly wage up to $8 per hour for a total of $3,200/year per individual intern.
This year, companies in digital health, cybersecurity, fintech, quantum technology, or robotics can apply for stipends to pay up to three eligible interns. Other eligible tech companies can apply for up to two interns.
The program enables growing companies to hire eligible interns, helping drive innovation and keeping our tech sector dynamic, vibrant, and growing across the Commonwealth.
In order to participate, companies must:
- Be headquartered in Massachusetts;
- Have 250 or fewer employees;

Hire a talented eligible intern this summer; and
-
Pay the intern as a W-2 employee with required payroll withholdings.
| Boston Scientific Connected Patient Challenge | |
For the 7th consecutive year, Boston Scientific is working with fellow healthcare organizations to help startups and entrepreneurs advance their digital health solutions through the Connected Patient Challenge.
This year, there are two separate challenge areas of interest. Boston Scientific is looking for digital health solutions and technologies that:
- will generate meaningful insights, aid diagnosis, and increase patient engagement (can include the use of AI); or
- enhance the management of peripheral vascular disease, clot management and interventional oncology.
The prizes for the Connected Patient Challenge VII include two in-kind resources awards worth $15,000, a $10,000 cash award from the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech (MeHI) under its MassDigitalHealth work, and two spots in the M2D2 IMPACT Accelerator program.
