November 2023 - News and Events

Happy Thanksgiving!

USDA NIFA Grant Recipient Spotlight!

This is our second year of our USDA NIFA grant for students lacking veterinary education opportunities. As we work to provide more opportunity for students lacking veterinary science education we are excited to have an exceptional group of kids this cycle.

Help us recognize DeMarcus Carrillo, one of our year 2 grant students!

DeMarcus is from Dexter, New Mexico and currently a senior at Dexter High School. He plans to graduate in the spring of 2024. DeMarcus is an active member in both school and community. He is in various clubs and sports such as student council, yearbook and plays on the varsity basketball team.

DeMarcus currently serves as National Honor Society president for Dexter High School and is a participant in Upward Bound through Eastern New Mexico-Roswell.

In his free time he loves to play basketball, reading books, playing games and listening to music.

He plans to go to school to become a veterinary technician where he can work with various kinds of animals. DeMarcus says "He is honored to have been accepted into the VSCP family and have big plans for this upcoming year."

We are proud to welcome him to the VSCP family and more importantly we are proud to provide opportunity to a young man to pursue education and hopefully a career in the veterinary profession.

Help us welcome and congratulate DeMarcus Carrillo!
