  • Brand New STGN project bags! Actually they are SMASH bags – great for traveling and carrying your knitting projects in.

  • The designer, Caspapinka, will release a FREE pattern this weekend only. You do have to come in to the shop to get your code for the pattern; Sorry, we cannot give out the code over the phone and besides, we really, really want to see you on LYS day.

  • Free Patterns from some of our favorite yarn companies

  • New yarn from a brand new dyer - go to rubyandrosesyarn to get a look at what's coming.

(We have a few other things up our sleeve.)
Cowee Fiber Festival

Be sure to go to the Cowee Fiber Festival, May 5th & 6th. Silver Threads & Golden Needles will be out there as well as our own Charles Gandy. Charles will be teaching a three hour knitting workshop called
“Embellished Knitting.”
Go to www.coweeschool.org to sign up for Charles’ class.
Make sure you check out the ten yarn shops in the WNC Yarn Crawl. Each shop will have drawings for prizes provided by major yarn companies. You do not have to purchase anything to participate in the daily drawings.
The Fiber Faerie will be having a trunk show at STGN. She will be having a wide selections of hand-dyed yarn, as well as kits for the Game of Thrones 2 Shawl.

We will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00-5:00.
Amy Murphy has been busy knitting and crocheting. Look what is hot off of her needles!
“Dangling Conversation”

This one skein scarf project is made from a beautiful new yarn called Prism, by Araucania – a combination of linen/flax, cotton and viscose. It is perfect for our warm summers. Just wait until you see all the colors of his yarn!
“Skyward Kerchief”

This is a crocheted scarf that is made up of one skein of fingering yarn and one skein of mohair. Knit together, this makes an incredibly soft scarf. We had fun putting some two skein kits together.
“The Maya Top” by Gavriella Treminio

Look at this cute summer top that Amy made. It is a top down knit and she used Dungarees Paints, a sportweight cotton, from Queensland.
Here is a picture of some new yarn in the shop:
Huasco Cotton – this is a light fingering weight, hand-painted 100% cotton from Araucania . The colors will remind you of spring flowers.
We are having a blast knitting hats from the Knitting The National Hats book, by Nancy Bates. Here is the Sequoia Hat that Virginia made. Look at all those baubles on the top of the hat!
