Volunteers - Sign Up Now!

All of our community recreation program partners from Harwich to Provincetown are on board to join us for another summer providing free meals to 500+ children a day. We make and distribute those meals with a very small paid staff and the generous efforts of more than 100 volunteers. Whether you are an experienced hand with us or a newcomer, we hope you will sign up to help. We know you can find a schedule that works for you!

Volunteered With F4K Before?

Already Know What You Want To Do?

Go online here - Food Prep/Pack Volunteer - to sign up to help prepare the meals, pack them up, and/or make a dump run with our recyclables. There is a signup page for each week: just pick the week, the day of the week, and the role you would like to fill.

Go online here - Driver Volunteer - to sign up to deliver meals to our sites. Let us know where you would prefer to drive, which day(s) of the week and what make of car you will be using. We'll develop a final driver schedule from the information everyone provides.

You can also visit our website at www.food4kidscapecod.org and click on Volunteers for the same volunteer sign-up links.

About Our Volunteer Roles?

EARLY FOOD PREPARATION: Work in the kitchen at Church of the Holy Spirit from 7:30 – 9:30 am helping to prepare meals for that day.

PACKING LINE: Work in assembly line fashion at the church from 9:30 – 10:45 am to pack lunch bags and load them into coolers.. We can always use those wanting a more “relaxed” task (like washing/cutting fresh fruit or dividing bulk packs into single-serve) and those wanting something a bit more robust (like breaking down boxes and cleaning coolers).

DRIVING: Starting as early as 10:00 am, pick up and deliver coolers full of meals and bags of books to our sites. For ease of scheduling, we ask you to sign up for the same day each week to the same site (e.g. every Wednesday to Wellfleet). When you sign up, just let us know if you will need a substitute on any days. We need 1 driver each day of the week to Harwich, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown and Nauset Middle School here in Orleans. We may need 2 drivers each day to Brewster (2 different locations).

LATE FOOD & OTHER PREPARATION: Help prepare for the following day from 11:00 am – noon. We can always use those wanting a more “relaxed” task (like washing/cutting fresh fruit or dividing bulk packs into single-serve) and those wanting something a bit more robust (like breaking down boxes and cleaning coolers).

DAILY DUMP RUN for recyclables any time after 10:00 am.

If a child is hungry, that is all they think about all day.
