CHECK LIST FOR ENTRY

There are a few things to remember when you are doing entries. Below is a checklist of items to keep in mind while doing your entries for 2023

Make sure your cattle are 100% in the junior's name by May 25.
Check that the animal has a weaning weight listed at RAAA. If there is no weaning weight by check-in, the animal will be Category 2 and ineligible for showing in the Owned or Bred & Owned Show.
Make sure your animal is in R or I Status and all DNA work has been completed. The lab has been behind due to staffing issues. If your animal needs DNA work, get it in early!
If your female is Bred & Owned only, you will need to pay for a bedded stall. For all other animal entries, the bedding is included.
Remember that for an animal to qualify for Bred & Owned it must have NEVER left the junior's name at any time since the day it was born.
Be sure to purchase your banquet tickets. Exhibitors will need to purchase a ticket as well
Enter your T-shirt size for your show and event t-shirts.
You will receive 2 show shirts with your entry again this year.
Pay a NAJRAE Junior Membership fee for each Junior Exhibitor including Peewees. This is in addition to the Red Angus membership. NAJRAE is an independent association and each junior exhibitor Novice-Senior level must pay a $20 membership fee and Peewees a $5 membership fee to participate.
The exhibitor will need to participate in three (3) satellite events to be eligible to show, one of which may be a team event.

Peewee Pride in 2023!

Attention all Pee Wees!!

If you were in Chickasha last year, you were able to join us in the first ever Pee Wee Pride room. This year the NAJRAE Junior Board has been vastly at work to create an even better week for our peewees. Guess who, “Horton hears a Moo”. Come prepared to have Green Eggs and Ham, make a Cat in the Hat craft, and maybe even a surprise visit from the Grinch. We will have daily Dr. Suess book readings and of course the famous superhero parade through the barns. We can’t wait for an exciting week to let your imagination run wild and always remember, “A person’s a person, no matter how small.”

Cattle Health Information

Cattle health requirements for traveling to South Dakota may be found at the

South Dakota Department of Agriculture website.

Things to Tell Your Vet!!

Make sure your prefix and ID (tattoo) in your cattle's ears matches your registration paper. The prefix and ID (tattoo) from your registration paper MUST be in your animal's ear.
The prefix and ID (tattoo) must be on your health paper.
All cattle must have an official USDA ear tag of identification. This can be an EID tag or a silver USDA tag.
If your heifer is bred, her pregnancy must be listed on the health paper. The rule states: At the time of processing, all females 20 months of age or older on publicized date of the show must have one of the following: i. Certificate of pregnancy from a licensed veterinarian. ii.Written statement by a licensed veterinarian or embryologist of having produced fertile eggs. iii. A female’s own natural-born calf at the side, that is registered as a 1A or 1B
