April is the Month of the Military Child

Please join us in recognizing our military-connected children this April during the Month of the Military Child (MOMC). These amazing kids are strong, brave, and proud. We celebrate their selflessness and sacrifice as they serve our country as part of a military family, not just in April, but all year long.

Held on April 15th of each year, “Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day for communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. KME will celebrate Purple Up! Day on Friday, April 14. Please encourage your students to wear purple, which shows support and signifies the unique sacrifices military children make alongside their families, both at home and abroad. Purple is the chosen color because it references the joint environment of the military, encompassing all service branches,

Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Veterans. Purple combines each branch's colors into one: the Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard all use shades of blue, the Army uses green, and the Marines use red.

For more information on the services offered please click here. For more information, please contact Sara Legault, slegault@kingslocal.net.

KJH Winter Guard Completes Season

Congratulations to the Kings Junior High Winter Guard who had an outstanding competitive season! On April 1, they placed 2nd at State Championships and were awarded the silver medal. Winter Guard Coach, Jennifer Maegly said that the 2nd place win was not easy. "There were 7 groups in their class at State and there was a tie for 3rd place only 9 tenths of a point below Kings!"
