Mission Statement

We will be the body of Christ in our Community by Connecting with God, Growing in Discipleship, and Serving the World.

Next Sermon for December 17th

This past Sunday Pastor Britney shared a fresh perspective on the story of the annunciation as she connected Mary’s story with the lighting the second Advent candle, the candle of peace, to the times in our lives when we feel anything but peace. Pastor Britney’s sermon caused me to ask myself where do I see God in the places in my life and in the world that lack peace? And, in these times, how can we as a faith community reflect the peace of Christ to one another and our neighbors.

Where are you experiencing the peace of Christ?

Where do you need to experience the peace of Christ?

My prayer is that we find the peace of Christ in the times and places that we need it most.

Grace & Peace,

Amanda

Hello, dear Church -

We have finished out our first year of young adult ministry with The O.G.'s Christmas party! We had four new people join us for games and food. It's amazing to see what the Holy Spirit has done with this ministry in just three short months! We are so excited to see what God will do in 2024. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support. Please keep praying for us and for our next year. And to our "OG's," thank y'all for showing up and not just attending, but inviting others and each other to join what we are doing! We will meet again on January 9th! As always, please let me know any ideas or questions you have. Happy Christmas!

Blessings,

Pastor Britney

I am excited to share an update from our preschool & Kindergarten children, who had their performances at Birthday Party for Jesus this week!

With great enthusiasm, they retold the Nativity story. Their smiles, enthusiasm, and sweet singing voices warmed our hearts.

In the midst of the busyness and festivities of this season, may we pause, reflect, and allow the true meaning of Christmas to shine brightly in our lives.

On behalf of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, I want to thank all the teachers, parents, congregation members, and volunteers who have worked many hours to make this event a success.

Wishing you all a blessed week!

In Christ,

Mandy Midgett
