What keeps us going?

Our community; which includes our members and their families, our staff, our board and all of our past alumni keep us going and motivated.

So to celebrate, we're going to feature a story a week for the next several months, featuring members of our community and their experiences since they joined.

Please consider a donation and help us get to $10,000.00. Here are things we can do because of donors like you:

• Help us fund our new transportation scholarship for kids struggling to get to our center.
• Cooking and Music are two of our more popular classes and they require equipment. Help us fund some kitchen and/or music studio purchases.
• Help us continue to offer tuition scholarships to make it affordable for all.
• We receive no state or federal funding, so your donations really help fuel the fire of intellect.

Vin

Vincenzo is a bit of a veteran to self-directed learning. He started homeschooling/un-schooling at an early age, but as a teen felt like he wanted a little more structure.

He is thriving at BSLC and loves engaging with friends and staff in all the classes he is taking.

One of Vin's passions right now is creating an animated sci-fi pilot on YouTube. Vin is taking classes online with Devan Rene, a scriptwriter for Warner Bros, is writing a script for his show, has looked into hiring voice actors and is actively searching for help with animation.

Vin has also considered dual enrollment where he'll take classes at both BSLC and Community College. This is a tremendous benefit of centers like ours where the schedule is much more flexible.

We can't wait to see all the cool things Vin will create.
