Julie Dombo

Faces of ESFL

Have you met Julie Dombo at a Skills for Life or Amputee Coalition meeting? At a prosthetists office? Or on Facebook? Or possibly a Kansas City Chiefs football game like Taylor Swift got to?

On August 11, 2015, Julie Dombo was shot twice during a store robbery in Wichita, KS. Due to complications from the shooting, she lost both hands and both legs below her knees, 2/3 of her right lung and hearing in her left ear. She died twice in the ER.

Message from the Executive Director

Holiday Season

Halloween has come and gone, so now we enter the mad rush to the holidays and the end of the year. We wish our Canadian friends a belated Happy Thanksgiving on October 9 and our US friends a Happy Thanksgiving on November 23.

Please Welcome...

After serving on our ESFL board of directors since 2019, Karen Lundquist is joining our staff in a part-time and role as Director of Communication & Partnership. I have known Karen since 2003 when we worked together at Ottobock and then again during her time with the Amputee Coalition. She has been doing so much behind the scenes so it's fun to be colleagues again officially! Please help me welcome Karen to our team.

Karen Lundquist

Peter Nohre is joining our board of directors, bringing his expertise in healthcare strategy and leadership. His work at Ossur and Ottobock fueled his passion for helping people to live the life they choose and he is looking forward to helping to expand community and resources. He enjoys all four seasons at his home in Minnesota, spending time outdoors all year with his wife and two children. He looks forward to guiding ESFL growth and to meeting the community we serve. Please add your welcome to mine!
