Cocoa and Cram


Thank you to our Academic Boosters who is helping to support Cocoa & Cram! This is an opportunity for students to access NHS tutors, a space to study, and cocoa as they prepare for final exams. The event is in the library on December 16th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Cal High Holiday Orchestra Concert


Join Cal High Orchestra for a festive evening at their holiday concert on Tuesday, 12-12-23 at 7pm in the theater. Free admission for CHS staff and students with id. Adults $10, Children $5

Calling All Overdue Textbooks and Library Books


Hi Students, the Winter break is almost here! Please return all your books that are overdue so you can start fresh for the new year! Thank you!

50th Anniversary Edition of the Cal High Yearbook (2024)


1) Purchasing a yearbook:  Please check this list (link here) to see if you have purchased a yearbook (press <ctl><f> to find your name). A Yearbook Only option is available on Future Fund (link here) for $140 between September 1st and January 9th, 2024. After January 10th, Ms. Brindley must have a final count for the yearbook order and will be selling yearbooks for cash or check only in WL-1 until all the ordered yearbooks have been sold. The past two years we have sold out the yearbooks, so please DO NOT WAIT to purchase a yearbook.


2) Seniors!!!: Make sure you are included in the yearbook. Please refer to this letter for important Senior due dates and links concerning Portraits (Nov 9th is the new last day) and ads (Nov 27th is the last day).

Inclusive Schools Week


SRVUSD celebrates all students with disabilities and strives to model respect, empathy, and high expectations for every student with disabilities during Inclusive Schools Week on January 22-26, 2024


To celebrate inclusion of all of our students with disabilities at all of our schools, PTA through Gryco Sportswear are selling Inclusion Matters t-shirts which will be worn on the final day of Inclusive Schools week in January.  The shirt is the disability pride flag which aims to promote awareness of the positive pride felt by those in the disability community and says Inclusion Matters @ SRVUSD. PTSA Membership


We would love to see your support of the Cal High PTSA by becoming a member. This can be done on the Future fund registration platform, and also by sending us a check. Parent membership is $16, Students $10 and Cal High Teachers/Staff $8. Donations to PTSA can also be done by check if you want to avoid the platform fee of FF. Winter Sports at Cal High:

Any students interested in trying out for a Winter or Spring sport can check the Cal High athletic website.

Spring Sports

Spring sports tryouts begin on Monday, February 5!  All athletes who try out must have an athletic clearance on file. Visit the Cal High Athletics website for more information about the clearance process and each team's tryout dates/times. Go Grizzlies!

California High Ed Fund/Academic Boosters

The purpose of the California High School Education Fund/Academic Boosters is to raise money to enhance learning at California High School. Our fundraising activities are managed by Cal High Parents and we support all students, at all grade levels, and at all levels of academic performance.


Learning Labs

The California Academic Boosters is happy to continue to support the school's tutoring program Learning Labs for 2023-2024 school year. 

The program provides tutoring hours for subject areas such as math, WL, science and English to students in need, as well as building leadership/communication/social skills for tutors.

Cal High Case Study Event

The Academic Boosters is happy to support the Cal High Case Study event hosted by the Cal High Counseling department and partnered with RACC. It is an interactive mock admission event for 11th grade and their parents on Tuesday Nov 28th. We have about 20 college reps who volunteered to join the event and over 120 guests registered.


Many thanks to Ms. Falcone from the Counseling department leading this event and providing this great opportunity to our Cal High juniors and their families.

Instrumental Music Boosters

CHS Instrumental Music Boosters is a non-profit organization that fundraises to support the Instrumental Music Program at Cal High.

Fall Non District Course Deadline - January 19, 2024

Parents- if your students took a Non District Course during 1st semester- The deadline to submit the Fall NDC transcripts for credits is January 19th, 2024. Both the Application to Place Credit form and the NDC Official transcript has to be submitted by the deadline. Please know late submissions will not be accepted. 


– Kindly follow these 2 steps- if the NDC credits are to be transferred on the CHS transcript 

1.  Submit this Application to Place Credit form, after the completion of the course. (NOTE- Paper Copies of "Application to Place Credit" will not be accepted.)


Upload the completed form, signed by both - the student and parent(s). 

Section 4, Question 3 of the Google form is where you need to upload the signed form.

CHS transcript will be updated once this form is received.

2. Submit the Official NDC Transcript from the institution to the Registrar’s office by the deadline. (Transcripts emailed from a student/parent are not considered official and will not be accepted)


Transcripts can be sent to the registrar via fax, email or by postal mail. 


Check here to see if your NDC Transcript has been received and or if grade has been added to Cal High transcript.

The Truth About Fentanyl


Monday December 11, 6:00-7:00 pm 

Join this in-person presentation co-sponsored by SRVUSD and the SRVCPTA to hear from Ryan Rezaei, Narcotics Chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Francisco. He will discuss fentanyl: what is it, how deadly is it, and, above all, what do you need to know for your children? Session will include overdose rescue training by April Rovero with NCAPDA and free Narcan overdose rescue kits for all attendees. Registration required, space is limited: bit.ly/Dec11ParentEd.

32nd District PTA Senior Scholarships


The Thirty-Second District PTA serves the children and families of Contra Costa County. As part of our mission to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community, the Thirty-Second District PTA annually awards up to six (6) $500.00 scholarships to high school

seniors graduating from Contra Costa County high schools that have an active PTSA.


Two (2) awards of five hundred dollars ($500.00) in three (3) categories:

● Personal Challenge Award

● Community/School Service Award

● Thirty-Second District PTA Award


Two awards will be given to graduating seniors on each of the following three education paths:

● Career or Technical School

● Community College

● Four-Year College


Qualifications:

● be a senior at a Contra Costa County high school that maintains an active PTSA

● be a member of their high school PTSA

● be a student in good standing at their school with a minimum grade point average of 2.0

● plan to attend an accredited career or technical school, community college, or four-year college


Applications must be submitted electronically by Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
