🛠 NEW DEVELOPMENT 🛠
ROCKTREE SOLAR PROJECT
Voltarix Group Inc. (VGI) is developing a 25.3 megawatt (MWdc) solar power project on a 130 acre site at Golden Spike Road and Highway 628, bordering Spruce Grove's southern boundary in Parkland County.

The Rocktree Solar Project will contribute renewable energy to meet electricity demand on the local distribution grid. The project will include over 41,000 solar modules installed on steel pile foundations to a height of 11ft. VGI will transmit energy to Fortis Alberta’s existing distribution power lines.

The $35-million solar project is expected to be fully operational in 2024, and employ many local businesses and workers during construction and operations. Upon completion, the project will have capacity to provide green power equivalency for roughly 80% of Spruce Grove's peak power demand, and is an important contribution to renewable energy production.

We’re extremely excited to begin construction on this project and contribute meaningful renewable energy to the Greater Edmonton region, and are grateful for the support we’ve received from Spruce Grove and Parkland County during project planning.” – Richard Haas, Managing Director
