A SPECIAL THANK YOU

St. John would like to give a special thank you to Gary Wightman for his 20+ years of service here at church as the Head of the Counters and for his many other involvements within our congregation. We are very thankful for all of his generous time donated.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY – NEW TOPIC STARTED ON APRIL 16

TOPIC - ALLELUIA PSALMS | SUNDAYS IN APRIL & MAY 2023

In this Easter season, we’ll study one psalm, each week, which leads us to say “Alleluia” and “Praise to God”. Our understanding of the Lord Jesus and His resurrection will be enriched as we see how God brings joy – in all circumstances – to His people. Pastor Schultz: pastorschultz@sjlplymouth.com

PHOTOS WANTED

Please gather your photos with Mrs. Truttschel to help us celebrate her 18 years of teaching at SJL! Whether it was a class trip or fun times in the classroom, we would like to showcase her time as our first grade teacher and thank her for the many memories she has given our children and families. Please share your photos by sending them to sbm.begalke@sjlplymouth.com by the end of May. Thank you!

WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL - BOX TOPS

The program has gone electronic. Please download the ‘Box tops for Education’ app to your phone. Once the app is downloaded you will create an account and select the school’s name. From there, scan your receipt within 14 days of the purchase, and it will automatically add the items to the school. You can ALSO submit electronic receipts from grocery store pickup, for example. Forward your receipt within 14 days to receipts@boxtops4education.com. (You will need to have an account set up that is tied to your email.) For additional information on how to use the app and upload/scan receipts, please reference the website: https://www.boxtops4education.com.

WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL - COKE REWARDS

SJL earns 10 cents for every cap/code you enter in! This is on ANY and ALL Coke products. Codes are located on the outside of the box for cans and under the cap for any size bottle. You can use the below website to find the school and enter the codes online. It does require you to create a sign in, but that allows you to sign in and not have to search for the school every time (it should just recall your “recent” schools). All caps/codes may still be placed in the bins located in the entryway by church and by the office in school. https://us.coca-cola.com/give/

LOAD OUR SHELVES

Thank you SJL for supporting the Load Our Shelves project! In January, you collected 132 jars of peanut butter, in February, 150 boxes of cereal, in March 63 pancake mixes/syrup, and 121 jars of spaghetti sauce in April! The item being collected in May is baked beans. Keep up the great work!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

This summer at Vacation Bible School, we’re covered in Jesus’ grace! Our theme for this year, God’s Living Water: Covered in Jesus’ Grace, is inspired by 1 Timothy 1:14, which says, “The grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.” Each of the lessons focuses on biblical accounts that emphasize the Living Water, Jesus Christ. We will do crafts, sing songs, eat snacks, and play fun games! Join us July 24th-27th (9:00am-11:30am).

-Students: 3K-5th Grade (must be potty-trained – grade going into in the Fall) are invited to attend. Donation of $5 per child or $10 per family.

-Staff: Completed 6th-8th grade, in High School, College, and Adults. Staff typically helps guide and shepherd students from one station to another.
