The Future of Work is Diverse, Inclusive, Just and Equitable

GlobalMindED closes the equity gap by creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline through connections to role models, mentors, internships for low-income students, returning adults, First Gen to college and inclusive leaders who teach them, work with them and hire them.
From Jamaica to The United States Air Force to Founder and CEO of Rogue Media Group: Meet GlobalMindED Inclusive Leader, Maximillian Hamilton

What is your personal story, and how does it inform your personal and professional purpose?

I was born in Jamaica, W.I., and moved to New York City at twelve. Coming from a low-income family, my father and grandmother instilled in me the values of hard work and community, while my mother instilled in me the values of compassion and humility. From high school to the military, I was surrounded by men and women who were goal-oriented and eager to share their knowledge. I was a curious student surrounded by people of different races and colors.

My desire to travel the world led me to enlist in the United States Air Force. After twelve years of service, I returned to New York and began a career in sales, which led to positions at The Network Journal and Earl G. Graves Publishing/Black Enterprise. Each Publisher became a mentor to me, shaping my professional goals. As a result, I became even more determined to help African American professionals and business owners succeed and to be a valuable resource in my community.

You are an enormously successful media leader with an impressive background, including serving our country in the Air Force. How did your military service prepare you to become the Founder and CEO of Rogue Media Group?

It was an honor and a privilege to join the Air Force. It taught me to put others first, that to lead, one must learn to follow, and that life serves a greater purpose than one's agenda. We also strive for continuous improvement in our craft and mental toughness.

Rogue Media Group prioritizes our clients and partners. That is the shared mission of all of our partners. As a result, I embrace the role of Servant Leader.

What are your greatest goals for Rogue Media Group, your partners, and your clients?

Rogue Media Group's top priority is expanding our footprint in Africa and the Caribbeans through news media acquisitions, giving our partners global reach, shared ownership, and clients access to emerging markets.

What legacy do you most want to leave the world at the end of your life?

The legacy entails leaving behind a platform that positively impacts my community (closes the economic wealth gap where people are homeowners, job creators, and investors) and where my children can build upon an enterprise that expands the global market for personal and financial gain.

Why do you value the GlobalMindED community, and how can GlobalMindED's Inclusive Success Network support your goals in the various professional and personal roles you lead?

I value the GlobalMindedED community because of the mission to close the equity gap by connecting students (with limited resources, First Gen to college, and returning adults) to role models, mentors, and internships with inclusive leaders who teach them, work with them, and hire them. This mission is consistent with Rogue Media Group's philanthropic efforts.
