EXHIBITION BY DGANIT ZAUBERMAN @BEKI

An exhibition of work by artist Dganit Zauberman, titled “Land in Flux,” is on view in the Beth El – Keser Israel [BEKI] galleries until June 14. She will discuss her work on Saturday, April 29.

Based in a studio in Erector Square in New Haven since 2016, she has exhibited in galleries in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, California and Connecticut, including at the Institute Library and ArtSpace in New Haven.

“Early in my life, informed by my upbringing in a kibbutz, I observed the importance of land as not only a source of life but also as a source of struggle, separation, and death,” she explains. “Now, with the current political and environmental climate, the subject of land continues to be essential to my work; it has, if anything, become even more important in recent years.”

To view the exhibit at BEKI email art@beki.org, or call the BEKI office at (203) 389-2108 x114.

REQUEST A FREE TREE TO PLANT WITH URI

Request a Free Tree Thanks to a partnership with the City of New Haven’s Parks, Recreation and Trees Department we are happy to plant street trees for New Haven residents with our GreenSkills crews. Use the online form HERE to request trees to be planted in front of your New Haven home or business. The resident commitment entails watering the tree (or trees) planted and informing URI of any problems with the new tree. Each tree needs 25 gallons of water per week during the growing seasons (from bud-break to leaf-drop) for the first three years.  Here is a list of trees we plant and their characteristics (although we may not have all these trees available every season) and a catalog with photos of the trees.

Need to request a street tree or stump removal? URI does not remove trees or stumps or prune trees that we have not planted recently. You may request that the City’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Trees help you with those tasks through SeeClickFix.
