Good morning, St. Johns County voters,
The January 28, 2025, Special Primary Election in Congressional District 6 was a great success thanks to our dedicated poll workers, community partners, and of course, voters! Primary Elections historically bring low voter turnout, and this election was no different, with a 14.38% voter turnout. The Special Primary Election was open only to registered Republican and Democrat voters in Congressional District 6 to vote for the vacancy left by Congressman Waltz’ resignation. Out of 25,809 eligible St. Johns County voters, 3,711 voters cast their ballots by mail, early, or on Election Day.
On Friday, February 7, the St. Johns County Canvassing Board convened to certify official election results for the Special Primary Election. As advertised, if no 10-day overseas vote-by-mail ballots were received, the Public Post-Election Audit would be conducted after certification. Using the Clear Ballot ClearAudit system, the audit was conducted with 100% accuracy!
Immediately after certification, the Elections Office began preparations for the April 1, 2025, Special Election. The Special Election will be open ONLY to registered St. Johns County voters residing in Congressional District 6. To verify if you are eligible to vote in this election, please visit www.votesjc.gov and use the CD 6 Address Search Tool located on the homepage and Election Dates page.
