Alliance Members,
The AHR Expo 2025 in Orlando, Florida, was nothing short of amazing for the Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA) and the hydronics industry as a whole! We were thrilled to see packed rooms, standing-room-only sessions, and an undeniable energy surrounding the critical discussions on hydronic heating, geothermal solutions, and decarbonization efforts. The enthusiasm from attendees reinforced just how important our industry is in shaping the future of sustainable building technologies.
Throughout the event, our expert speakers captivated audiences with deep insights into the latest advancements. Brad McCrea kicked things off with an in-depth look at optimizing radiant heating design software, setting the stage for a highly technical and engaging lineup. Lance MacNevin followed with an illuminating session on new model specifications for ground source geothermal piping, which had attendees eagerly taking notes. Greg Cunniff later demonstrated the power of energy modeling through BEST Software, a session that drew high levels of interest and engagement. William Werthman wrapped up the first day by providing a masterclass on best practices in radiant heating design and installation, leaving the audience with actionable insights to take back to their projects.
Tuesday brought even more engagement, starting with the RPA Open Door Business Meeting, where industry professionals gathered to discuss the future of our Alliance over a nice breakfast provided by IAPMO. Soon after, Jay Egg’s compelling talk on how cities can utilize Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) drew a large and engaged audience, eager to explore how these systems can drive both sustainability and job creation. Greg Kurtz followed up with a deep dive into geothermal heat pump technologies, sparking lively discussions on their long-term viability. The day wrapped up with Carlos Duarte and Saeed Danesh, who delivered a highly anticipated session on radiant cooling, leaving attendees with fresh perspectives on high-performance system research.
The excitement carried into Wednesday with a dynamic RPA Panel Session, moderated by yours truly, featuring panelists Carson Brown, Becca Stamey, and Danny Braught. This session on digital strategies for contractors was a crowd favorite, with interactive discussions on leveraging social media and digital tools to grow business and industry influence. Attendees left with a newfound enthusiasm for marketing strategies that could set them apart in the digital landscape.
Beyond the educational sessions, AHR 2025 provided an unmatched opportunity for networking and exploring the latest industry innovations. A major highlight was RPA’s Building Efficiency System Tool (BEST Software) taking home the 2025 Innovation Award in the category of Software, being the first association to do so.
The buzz at the IAPMO/RPA booth was incredible, as professionals connected over shared challenges and opportunities while proudly sporting IAPMO and RPA shields at their own booths.
For those who couldn’t attend, we have great news! We’ll be releasing the recorded sessions soon on our YouTube channel. Stay tuned!
