PRESIDENT WARD REAPPOINTED
The Board of Regents has appointed President Jenifer K. Ward to a second term effective July 1. The Board commended President Ward for developing a strategic framework for the programs and initiatives needed to help evolve and forge a sustainable future for the college.

In a time of financial and enrollment challenges facing all of higher education, the Board expressed confidence that President Ward understands and can address these challenges as they apply to Luther.
The Board also noted the strong senior Cabinet that President Ward has assembled and her strong leadership during the historic COVID pandemic.

Board chair Bob Paulson '78 and vice chair Shannon (Miller) Duval '95 concluded by stating, “We sincerely appreciate the caring and steadfast support that the Luther College faculty, staff, administration, President, and greater college community provide for students, and each other.”
WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST ALUMNI
This month, 385 students will participate in Commencement, and we are delighted to welcome them to the Alumni Association! Of this year's graduating class, 55 are children of alumni.

NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF IOWA SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH
Luther and the University of Iowa College of Public Health are partnering to create a 4+1 Bachelor's to Master's Degree Program in public health. Students who take advantage of this program will be able to earn a bachelor's degree plus a master's degree in public health in five years. Since the pandemic, public health careers are in demand.

YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD
Amanda Weber '08 will receive this year's Young Alumni Award at Commencement. Weber is the founder and artistic director of Voices of Hope, a choral organization providing singing opportunities in Minnesota state prisons. She also serves as Director of Worship and the Arts at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.

Whether you played in Concert Band, Varsity Band, Wind and Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band, or whatever the band was called, rally your classmates and friends, practice your instrument, and mark your calendars for June 30–July 2 for a fun and fulfilling weekend in Decorah!
Rosemaling at 2022 Norse Short Course
SUMMER PROGRAMMING
A few spaces remain in Luther's Nordic Studies Institute, July 25–27. Participants will enjoy a "short course" and other activities that highlight aspects of Nordic culture, including food, the arts, and the outdoor environment. Decorah's famous Nordic Fest follows on July 27–29.
In addition, short courses in culinary arts and photography are being offered in June and July, and for the young people in your life, Luther offers terrific sports and Dorian music camps.
CAMPUS
COMMENCEMENT 2023
Luther College will celebrate Commencement at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 21. It will be livestreamed and accessible to the public online at commencement.luther.edu. Sharran Srivatsaa '01 will deliver the Commencement address.
Srivatsaa is a successful entrepreneur, sought-after keynote speaker, angel investor, business podcast host, and private advisor to top CEOs.
