School Announcements


  • P.S.36 Attendance Raffle: We will be hosting a raffle for perfect attendance and most improved attendance students. Please join us virtually on Friday, December 8th at 9am.
  • Holiday Movie+ PJ Night: Perfect attendance and most improved attendance students will receive an invitation to our Movie night held on Thursday, December 14th at 5pm.
  • Spirit Week: We will be hosting our Spirit Week starting on Monday, December 18th. Please view the flyer below for daily details.
  • PTA Elections: Please join us and vote for PTA positions/roles on Thursday, December 21st. The Nominations will begin at 8:30 am and the Election will begin at 8:45 am in person at our school's play area.
  • Hot Cocoa Day: We will be hosting our Hot Cocoa Day on Friday, December 22nd for students during school hours.
  • Winter Recess: Schools will be closed Monday, December 25th, 2023- Monday, January 1st, 2024. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 2nd.
  • Food Distribution: The next food distribution will take place on Thursday, January 4th. The time will be announced closer to the event.
  • DOE School Calendar: You can find the new school calendar for the school year of 2023 to 2024 HERE
  • NYC Schools Account: It’s important that your school is able to reach you to share crucial information quickly, including alerts about confirmed COVID-19 cases in your child’s school. Please sign up for a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) so we can contact you via phone, email, or text message. STEPS ARE HERE

We have officially launched our own school website! On the website you will find school information, updates, and resources.

Arrival and Dismissal Updates
  • Breakfast will be served for all students in the cafeteria at 8:00 AM.
  • 3K – PK students will be escorted and picked up by their parent at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Kindergarten and First Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Second and Third Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 3 veranda.
  • Fourth and Fifth Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the main lobby, Exit 2 veranda.

Student Support
School Based Mental Health Services

School Based Mental Health Services offers students a space to talk about their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment and helps them develop healthy coping-skills. We offer individual counseling services, family therapy, and group counseling for students. 

 

If you believe your child can benefit from developing healthy coping skills or if you notice your child is experiencing changes in their eating or sleeping habits, behavioral issues, extreme feelings of sadness or worry, or has experienced any type of traumatic event, please reach out to Ingrid Cabrera at  Ingrid.Cabrera@nyfoundling.org, and fill out a consultation form below.
